Cellar Cooling

We aim to achieve a temperature of approximately +10C in a beer cellar. This temperature does not normally require insulation to the walls or ceiling (although your running costs will be lower if you do insulate). Many customers also store wine and sometimes vegetables within the cellar.

The required equipment is normally in the form of an outside condensing unit coupled to an indoor evaporator but one or two ‘integral’ units are available. When using a room as a beer cellar please pay attention to draughtproofing doors, windows etc. as this can affect performance. Also check for hot water pipes - if present they should be well insulated.

Some cellars can get too cold in winter - for this reason heater kits are available which are incorporated into the evaporator and will switch on automatically if the temperature falls below a certain level.
